Safety First

“Safety starts with me”. At York Construction we believe that safety is a top priority in providing excellent service to our customers. Not only do we value the safety of our employees, but also the safety of our subcontractors, our customers, and end users of the projects we are working on. Our priority is for everyone working on the jobsite to go home safely to their family at the end of the day and for the facility, and occupants of the facility, that we are working in to not recognize the impacts of our presence or activities.

With several years of construction experience, we are familiar with the various types of safety risks and concerns we face on a daily basis.  Our construction staff is trained to always seek out and recognize safety risks and to report them before they become an issue on the construction site.  We have constant feedback from York Construction self-performed safety audits and our full time third party safety audits which give us a snap shot in time of the types and frequency of certain infractions. We use these audits to provide us with leading indicators which are incidents that have not resulted in an accident but are mostly likely to occur if corrective actions are not taken. We concentrate on the leading indicators to bring the frequency of those infractions down to zero. As part of our safety program, all project managers, superintendents, and foremen are to be OSHA 30-hour certified, while all field staff are to be OSHA 10-hour certified, this not only applies to York Construction, Inc. but for all subcontractors working on York Construction projects. Our employees are also trained in ladders and stairwells, fall protection, first aid/CPR, and many more valuable certifications. We want everyone on our jobsite to Arrive Safe, Work Safe, and Go Home Safe.
